STEPS Fitness Center
STEPS provides a safe, supervised and accessible exercise environment for people who can’t easily work out in traditional fitness centers.
As part of the Udac philosophy of helping people realize their potential, the Specialized Training and Exercise Program (STEPS) was developed to enhance people’s physical function, to limit their cognitive decline, and to help them fight diseases such as diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure.
In STEPS first year, members lost 387 pounds and 132 inches!
We help individuals with disabilities, chronic diseases and issues with aging find a way to get a better workout.
Joining a gym isn’t the answer for everyone. STEPS, on the other hand is an option for anyone who has decreased mobility and who can’t easily access a standard exercise facility. The program offers high-end, high-tech workout equipment, aerobic activity and weight resistance, trained fitness providers who specialize in the care of people who have special needs, and the confidence and capability that comes from exercise.
STEPS Customizes a Fitness Program for Every Customer
STEPS is designed to meet the physical, medical, cognitive, behavioral, environmental and age-related abilities of every person it serves. It offers an initial ability assessment for every participant and works to help each member improve functional independence while preventing physical decline. It’s staffed by a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
